More Photos: Palace of Fine Arts

NOTE: Check out the preceding info on the Palace of Fine Arts in SFO in my archive links (see side bar located at the left hand side of this blog dated-May 2006) and you'd get more information there and photos as well ~Thanks!
I took these photographs in different angles and views yesterday. I almost tripped *sigh* capturing this timeless work of art, taking the vista from a worm's eyeview in a manner of perspective lingo (see LEFT photograh). That is the floral bush that welcomes people at the entrance of the palace (see RIGHT photo), designed a'la Roman columns. I have been to Rome and having been here at the Palace of Fine Arts yesterday made me go back in time in 1997 when I was on tour of Western Europe. Can you imagine when this place was constructed for the World's Fair in the 1900s and this was supposed to stay here only for a year?
The plan was to demolish this afterwards- but San Franciscans (as SFO locals are called) uproared and fought for this place to remain as it is now, 100 years later. They are doing renovation here. The Exploratorium is located here, almost on the side of The Marina.
