The Marina in San Francisco

This is one of the most expensive areas of San Francisco- The Marina. This is where the Palace of Fine Arts is and from the main street, one can see it through its monumental size cascading in the landscape.
The Marina is quite a beautiful neighborhood where homes like the one on the left could cost for as much as 2 to 4 million dollars! Across the main street is the yacht club where sailing enthusiasts come alive in the afternoon for some sailing competition across the ocean.
Take note of the architectural design of the houses here in SFO. SFO is pretty consistent in using Victorian motif as its main design feature in all of its residencial buildings and some of its business establishments constructed after the 1906 earthquake.
In the city, there is not much space available for a yard or garden areas so people are creative enough to improvise on something to enhance or accentuate their windows or veranda. Mostly, they plant flowering plants with brilliant colors that come alive during spring and summer. They are neatly planted in pots and tucked in flower boxes that frame the bay windows. San Franciscans have these quint essential bay windows in their homes or office that allows one to have a glimpse of the surroundings outside.
