LENT denotes the forty days' fast preceding Easter, originally meant no more than the spring season. How Lent is said in other languages:
1. French- carĂªme,
2. Italia- quaresima
3. Spanish- cuaresma
4. Filipino-cuaresma
5. Greek- tessarakoste
It all meant "forty days", or more literally the "fortieth day."
