Chinatown in San Francisco lies in the boarder of North Beach and Broadway Street. It is in the busy section of the city (Stockton) where vivid colors fill up its space. They represent good luck and lucky charm in the Chinese's traditional way of day to day existence.
Chinatown is no doubt to be one of America's tourists' favorite place in Northern California where all is almost readily available for sale~ you name it, they have it~from food to herbal medicine, home needs and many more. Being in Chinatown time and again had taught me not to expect for a good service. We all come here to pay cheap money for something more than what we could get if we were grocery shopping elsewhere.
L: Bay Bridge view along Jackson Street on Stockton; R: Heaves of shoppers walking along the streets of Chinatown for a good buy;
L: Line of commuters waiting for the bus to arrive ($1.50 for the bus ticket rate~good for three hours' travel time; one could hop from street to street and explore the city); M: Bus Stop; R: The much awaited bus zooming in toe the bus stop;
L & M: Murals of Chinese folks as depicted in this street art, giving importance to their contribution to the Chinatown's peaceful milieu minus the gang war of 20 years ago; R: tourists, office workers, locals pacing along Stockton (the white van is the US mail man's transport vehicle to bring in the mail to business and residencial areas in the community.
