Celebrating Friendship At Home

Our friends came by last night and had dinner with us. They thought we were eating at the bistro somewhere but no, I prepared broiled salmon marinated in Kosher salt and rosemary, sautead asparagus, capers and lemon. I also served baked eggplant parmeggiano and steamed rice. For dessert, we had almond chocolate biscotti, served with hot brewed coffee. In between dinner and dessert, we had white wine for the ladies and beer for the gentlemen. For antipasto, I prepared edam cheese, fresh mushroom, blue cheese, brie, sliced oranges and garlic baguette. After dinner, we walked to our neightborhood and enjoyed the music and drinks at the Condor bar; danced for a bit then headed back home; chatted a bit more then walked down to the street; escorted them to the parking lot and said adieu. It was raining last night and we were blown by the wind! We walked fast and were in bed by eleven MN. We watched some "Law and Order" series.

It was nice to be visited by a friend from yester years (we were posted together in Bangkok). She came with her spouse. They live in Oakland and are a wonderful couple; volunteered to build houses in Brazil in the summer. This gf of mine was the one who gifted me with a piano when I got engaged to Little Boy Blue. She brought orange tulips for me. Too bad, my digital camera chip is missing, I can't take photos these days. LBB's camera is broken. So it's just not our week to have photos you know. Bye!
