Remembering DIANNE

I worked with Dianne from August 1994 to June 1999 in Thailand. She taught sixth graders and was a home room teacher.
Dianne was a delight to be with and a great teacher to work with. She was excellent at motivating kids to succeed in their undertakings. She was innovative in percolating creative ideas and collaborative projects that were across the curriculum in make up.
Our first collaborative work was called, “Global Gladiators” conceptualized by Dianne in August 2004. This was our project that married the art and socials studies department. A hit in the school for its interesting exhibits, social relevance and student-related-activities, The International Educator (T.I.E.) in spring 2005 featured this project for its impact in teaching social studies in global international schools.

Dianne passed away last July 10 after dealing with lung cancer several months after she was diagonosed in the last quarter of 2006. She was a beautiful person inside out, a giving individual who was compassionate and passionate about life in general. Dianne is survived by her husband Neil and their two children who are of Thai origin.
